## Overview
Players reach into mystery boxes and guess what Christmas items are hidden inside using only their sense of touch. Each correct guess earns points or prizes. Christmas-themed objects only - no food items.

## Concept
The elves have packed mystery boxes with Christmas items from the workshop! Players must reach inside (without looking) and identify what's hidden by touch alone. Can you match what the elves have prepared?

## The 10 Christmas Items (Non-Food)

### Tactile Christmas Objects:
1. **Candy cane** (plastic/foam) - Curved hook shape, smooth
2. **Jingle bells** - Round, with rattle inside
3. **Pine cone** - Rough, bumpy texture, distinctive shape
4. **Christmas ornament** (plastic ball) - Round, smooth, may have hook
5. **Small wrapped gift box** - Square/rectangular, wrapped in paper
6. **Mini stocking** - Fabric, boot shape
7. **Snowflake decoration** (foam/plastic) - Star shape with points
8. **Ribbon bow** - Soft, looped fabric
9. **Small artificial pine branch** - Needle-like texture, flexible
10. **Cotton batting/fake snow** - Fluffy, soft, cloud-like

## Setup Instructions

1. **Prepare containers:**
   - Use fabric sacks with drawstring OR
   - Cut holes in cardboard boxes large enough for hands
   - Cover holes with black fabric secured with tape

2. **Place items:**
   - Put one Christmas item in each container
   - Number each container 1-10
   - Arrange in order on table

3. **Create answer key:**
   - List which item is in each numbered container
   - Laminate for durability

4. **Setup station:**
   - Good lighting for writing answers
   - Clear signage explaining the game
   - Pencils and answer sheets available
   - Staff member or self-service setup

## Game Variations

### Easy Mode (Kids)
- Use very distinctive items (jingle bells, pine cone, candy cane)
- Give hints if they're struggling
- Everyone gets a prize for participating

### Hard Mode (Teens/Adults)
- Use items with similar textures
- Add distractor items (multiple similar shapes)
- No hints allowed
- Prize only for 7+ correct

### Elf Workshop Theme
- Dress up station as "Elf Quality Control"
- "Make sure the workshop sent the right items!"
- Staff member plays elf character
- Add workshop decorations

### Option 1: Self-Grading
- Players write guesses on answer sheet
- Check their own answers against posted answer key

- Players turn in completed sheet to staff/elf
- Staff checks answers
- Award prize based on score:
  - 8-10 correct: Grand prize
  - 5-7 correct: Good prize
  - 1-4 correct: Participation prize
