Confirmed live 2026-09-24: sent 8 distinct colors (red/orange/yellow/green/cyan/blue/purple/white) to zones 1-8 in this exact channel order and Zach visually confirmed 8 correctly distinct color bands. Zone numbering direction (which physical end is zone1) not yet pinned down -- Zach noted the physical end he'd been calling 'the last section' was actually zone1 in this scheme."

"notes": "NOT confirmed as a plain-RGB zone mode. Live probe 2026-09-24 strongly suggests this is NOT '16 zones x 3ch' or '8 zones x 6ch' plain RGB -- multiple layouts tested (leading control channels + 15 zones; 8 zones x 6ch with a trailing byte) and in every layout tried, the last byte of each block behaved as an AUTO-COLOR-CYCLE SPEED control (0 = off/dark, low values = slow cycling, high values = fast cycling), not a static dimmer -- e.g. one specific 8-zone x 6ch layout: value 0 on the 6th byte of each zone -> dark, value 128 -> slow color-cycling, value 255 -> fast color-cycling. This suggests 48ch mode may be a macro/program-heavy mode rather than a pure higher-resolution zone mode (Zach's own live hypothesis, live 2026-09-24, not yet confirmed either way). Needs a real, patient, non-live-pressure investigation session -- do not treat 48ch as usable until re-investigated."
